MANAGING EDITOR

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage all daily operations of the Editorial Team
  • Coordinate editorial publications and meetings
  • Build and nurture a team of talented writers, designers and producers
  • Create and manage detailed content schedules
  • Oversee proofreading procedures and edit copy when necessary
  • Assist in evaluating finalized copy for compliance with policies, style and tone
  • Analyze performance metrics across properties to quantify results
  • Monitor and optimize performance to meet traffic, engagement and growth targets
  • Implement best practices, workflows, tools and templates to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the writing and publishing process
  • Ensure clients are satisfied and targets are achieved with assigned platforms
  • Collaborate and brainstorm with Project Managers, Channels Team, and other Creatives Team
  • Understand key marketing performance metrics and tracking tools to provide market research, forecasts, competitive analysis, campaign results, and customer trends in order to translate results into actionable insights for the Editorial Team and give support to other departments
  • Establish positioning, identify target audiences of clients, and develop marketing plans with specific objectives across different channels and segments and creative contents
  • Identify short-term and long-term scheduling, budget and resource needs, profit/loss projections, expenditure spending, and other financial considerations for the Editorial team
  • Manage conception, development, and implementation of marketing plans and strategies, product concepts, and promotional programs to drive targets
  • Hold regular meetings with client and project managers to review the pipeline, resolve challenges, present possible solutions, and provide ongoing training to ensure the team consistently performs above standard
  • Working in partnership with the creative team, develop creative briefs and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all advertising and public-facing communications including print, digital. and video assets
  • Conceptualize and execute multi-channel campaigns across the prospect and customer lifecycle, ensuring the alignment of communications and messaging across all channels
  • Manage content and updates for customer and internal touch points, establishing budget guidelines, documenting business processes, and providing additional sales support.
  • Gather customer and market insights to inform outreach strategies, increase customer conversions, and generate more qualified leads.
  • Identify the effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, and optimize accordingly.
  • Present ideas and final deliverables to internal and external teams, and communicate with management about marketing programs, strategies, and budgets for the Editorial team
  • Evaluate individual deliverables and overall team performance, delivering critical feedback where needed and encouraging team members throughout the duration of projects/campaigns
  • Report the progress of projects at major stages of their conception, creation, and execution
  • Supervise the department’s daily workflow, assign project workload, and monitor deadlines
  • Get feedback from clients and use that feedback to improve the team to ensure that clients are highly satisfied with the team’s output

Job Specification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism or any related field
  • At least 3 years experience as Managing Editor or relevant role
  • Working knowledge of content management systems
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Attention to detail
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Proficient in English Language
